What is Reflexology?

I started to see Nilam for reflexology in June 2005 as I suffer from migraines, back pains and severe period pains. I had about five treatments and feel very relaxed and the migraines and backaches have almost gone.

I am going back to Kenya but as soon as I come back I will start my reflexology treatments with Nilam again. I restarted my sessions with Nilam in December 2006 as the period pains are still bothering me. I feel much better and am able to manage the pain as it is not as severe as before. I would recommend people to try out sessions with Nilam.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works on the reflex points on the feet and hands enabling the body to heal itself. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing by applying pressure on the points to release energy blockages.

Thumbs and fingers are used to apply pressure to the feet and hands. For each person the application and the effect of the therapy is unique.

"Sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet"

Working on these points releases blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the whole body. Tensions are eased, and circulation and elimination is improved. This gentle therapy encourages the body to heal itself, often counteracting a lifetime of misuse.

Reflexology is suitable for both hands and feet.

Who Can Benefit From Reflexology?

Since reflexology treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of disease, most people can benefit from treatment.

Reflexology is suitable for:

Usually a treatment session lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour. A course of 7 to 12 treatments varies in length depending on your body's needs. After the first treatment or two your body may respond in a very definite way: you may have a feeling of well-being and relaxation; or you may feel lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is transitory.

No need to remove clothes other than socks.
